Gear Tooth Analysis Using Cyclic Time Averaging in SKF Human Machine Interface (HMI) Software

Introduction

This article describes a vibration analysis technique called Cyclic Time Averaging (CTA) which is available in SKF Human Machine Interface software. The Cyclic Time Averaging technique is similar to the well-established Synchronous Time Averaging method, with the major difference being that with Cyclic Time Averaging, an external hardware trigger is not required.
