Microlog dBX
Hi
Has anyone had some time with the new Microlog dBX? Any feedback on performance, features compared to older Micrologs, and possibly a comparison to the Emerson CSi 2140?

Thank you for your feedback.
The SKF Microlog Analyzer dBX incorporates "MPA in-a-flash" technology. Which is up to 3 times faster than older (previous generation) Micrologs. With its 10.1-inch hybrid touchscreen and faster processing power makes the Microlog dBX SKF's premier vibration analyzer. For more information, please go to www.skf.com. -

I have one, at this stage the system is very beautiful however I find for run of the mill data collection it is not any faster than a 6pack on my old VB7/VB8 it remains to be seen if some of the more special slow speed data sets can be completed faster, I hope this is the case.
In addition to that the system is very trammeled and frankly quite difficult to use, one specific detail is the need for rpm input, which because the options are so restricted is most impractical, there are limited options to establish and set rpm making many of its features pointless. the FFT system appears to have no true peak functionality and no Hamonic peak functionality in this way you cannot for example look at an FFT identify a GMF peak and set RPM as a sub multiple of that. at which point you might like to move to the circle plot functionality.
Another quite disappointing feature is the inability to open route-based data and begin a deeper analysis of that data using the full range of features, instead you must switch to another analyzer mode and take data again before being able looking further into the situation.
