Need a dBX/Laser tach system that will collect speed without needing reflective tape
Competitors have Laser Tach input that automatically adjusts sensitivity to be able to read a speed without need for reflective tape.

SKF’s CMAC 5030K laser tachometer works with reflective tape or white/black keyphasor. Tachometer works well in a range of applications. Reflective tape gives better performance.
- Operating frequency up to 250,000 rpm
- Long optical range up to 2 metres using reflective tape.
- Wide angle of operation – up to 80° degree
Competitors’ products do offer different technologies and say that their tachometer have automatic adjustment making them work with various pick-ups. Microlog dBX offers CMAC 5211 cable for such tachometers.

The real-world practical reality is that often we cannot stop a machine to place reflective tape on it for a test.
given that rpm input is critical in being able to achieve anything meaningful with the dBX and its extremely trammeled options for rpm input.
there should be an extensive range of practical options to achieve rpm input.

Dear SKF Microlog dBX user. CMAC 5211 cable is available to connect to 3rd party tachometers or external speed reference connectors.
At the moment SKF only offer CMAC 5030K laser tachometer that works with reflective tape or white/black keyphasor. Other options will continue to be investigated.
