SKF MCI Sensor Not Responding Normally to Read Key

When the read key is applied to a SKF Machine Condition Indicator (MCI) sensor, it does not appear to respond normally.  The LED indicator is amber (red) in color and blinks in a circle four (4) times before it turns off again.  The article below provides a likely explanation for this behavior.
