IMx‑M CMM Measurement points excluded from download

Summary

When downloading a configuration to an IMx‑M CMM with measurement points assigned to a protection channel, the following error may occur: 

“POINT not included in download as one of its channels is not enabled.” 

Measurement points associated with the disabled channel are not downloaded to the IMx device and will therefore not be measured.

This issue is caused when a protection channel with a lower channel number than the affected measurement point channel is disabled. 

As a result, the associated measurement points are excluded from the configuration download and are not measured by the IMx device.

Solution

As a workaround, all protection channels with lower channel numbers than the channels currently in use must also be enabled. 

For example, if channels 2, 3, and 5 are used, channels 1 and 4 must also be enabled, even if they are not assigned to measurement points.
