How to add Chinese characters in TCT dBX (including other languages)

Summary

This article describes how to properly configure the downloading of multibyte characters in the @ptitude Analyst database to the Microlog dBX device with modifications to TCT dBX's configuration file.

In Thin Client Transfer for Microlog dBX v 1.2023.4.4 (version 1.0, April 2023), Chinese characters are
displayed correctly in Route mode (*) but do not download properly to the Microlog dBX device.

For other languages, use the same procedure. More information can be found at
the bottom of this article. 

Solution

1. Close all applications related to @ptitude Analyst.
   
   
2. Go to: OS (C:) drive > Program Files (x86) > SKF-RS > TCTdBX and locate the file: AnalystThinClientTransferDBX.dll.config
   
   
3. Right -click on the file and select Open with > Notepad 
   
   
4. Search the file for the following line:
   <add key="Transaction_Server_Localized_Character_Set" value ="" />
   
   
   
5. Between the double quote sign "" in the value attribute type: gb1212 
   
   
   
6. Click File > Save and then close the file.

Chinese characters will now appear correctly in the Microlog dBX application.

Note: This procedure is not needed for the following languages: English, Swedish, Finnish, French,

Spanish, Portuguese and German.

For other languages use the following value:
