Summary
SKF Microlog dBX CMVA90 units are supplied with one of two battery pack models: CMAC 9005 or CMAC 9206 depending on the unit's serial number.
Make sure to use the correct battery pack for your device.
Identifying the correct battery for your Microlog dBX
- The battery model is indicated on the battery product label.
- The Microlog dBX serial number is located on the back of the device and can also be found in the Utility module under System information.
-
Units produced up to June 2025 are equipped with the CMAC 9005 battery pack.
Serial numbers range from 2210xxx (earliest batch) to 2506xxx.
-
Units produced from August 2025 onwards are equipped with the CMAC 9206 battery pack.
These units have serial numbers starting from 2508xxx.
Important: Use only the battery model that matches your Microlog dBX unit’s serial number range.
Inserting the wrong battery will prevent the device from operating, but it will not cause any damage.
Both battery packs are rechargeable Lithium-Ion batteries that provide up to 8 hours of continuous data collection. Charging is performed directly within the instrument, eliminating the need for external chargers.
Battery health maintenance guidelines
| Guideline | Note |
|---|---|
| Do not leave the battery at full charge (100%) for extended periods. | Slow charging is activated once the battery reaches 80% charge. |
| Avoid using the battery until it is fully depleted. Recharge it before it reaches 0% to help preserve battery health. | An automatic shutdown procedure is triggered when the remaining battery level reaches 5%, preventing a forced shutdown at 0%. |
| Avoid charging the battery in extreme temperature conditions, whether excessively hot or cold. | Charging is not recommended in environments where the temperature is below 10°C or above 45°C. |
| After 6 months of use, swap Battery 1 and Battery 2 to balance their usage and extend overall battery life. | Refer to the Quick Start Guide for instructions on how to swap the batteries. |
| If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery. Ensure it is charged to at least 80% before removal, and recharge it every 30-45 days to prevent deep discharge. | |
| If the battery is completely drained, it may enter hibernation mode, preventing it from charging or powering on. To recover, connect the device to a charger and allow it to charge continuously for 8 to 12 hours. |
