The SKF Microlog dBX enables users to read an RF tag attached to a machine using the built-in near-field communication (NFC) reader located on the rear of the instrument. Once the tag is read, and if the corresponding tag ID is valid in the Route, the Microlog automatically navigates to the appropriate machine in the route hierarchy.
Both @ptitude Analyst and Observer support NFC tag ID:
- At the Machine level under Description, enter the NFC tag identification enclosed between tilde symbols like this: ~your NFC tag~
- The SKF Microlog dBX also supports adding an NFC tag identification to a machine during data collection. Upon upload, the NFC tag is stored on the PC as a text note. From there, the NFC code can be copied to the corresponding machine in the Analyst hierarchy
On the SKF Microlog dBX, move the cursor to a machine to check whether an NFC code is present in the Attribute section.
If the NFC code is stored with a specific machine node, you can read the corresponding NFC tag on the machine, and the Microlog will automatically move the hierarchy cursor to that node.
The following NFC feature options are available from the Tools menu:
- Add NFC – Add an NFC code to the specific node. Select this function to activate the NFC reader. Scan the NFC tag, which is installed to the physical location of the node and store the NFC code to the Route.
- Read NFC – Scan the NFC tag and move the cursor of the Route hierarchy to the corresponding node.
- Delete NFC – Delete the NFC code which is stored in this node.
