Summary
When attempting to launch the @ptitude Analyst or Observer remote app from RDWeb (Windows Virtual Desktop), an authentication error may occur when connecting to the SKF @ptitude Connect, the hosted cloud.
This problem appears to be associated with Windows 11 version 22H2, or it may be due to a security or compatibility issue.
Solution
There are two possible solutions to this issue:
Solution 1 - Change the Windows registry:
-
On the computer trying to connect remotely, open the Windows Registry Editor.
-
Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsNT\Terminal Services\Client
-
Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value, name it fClientDisableUDP band, and set its value to 1.
- Restart the computer.
- Try connection to @ptitude Analyst or Observer again.
Solution 2 - Apply different registry key:
This setting will alter the traffic routing to the cloud by enforcing the use of RPC-HTTP connections instead of HTTP/UDP.
- On the computer trying to connect remotely, open the Windows Registry Editor.
-
Navigate to the following path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Terminal Server Client -
Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value, name it RDGClientTransport, and set its value to 1.
- Try connecting to 2ptitude Analyst or Observer again.
