Summary
This procedure will guide you how to set the number of months you wish to keep data in @ptitude Analyst.
Note: You must have a BACKUP of the database before you run this, as it will delete data.
Solution
- Log in to the MS SQL Server as skfuser1
-
There is a Stored Procedure in the skfuser database under Programmability > Stored Procedures
- Under Stored Procedures, right click on the skfuser1.dbtools_RemoveOldHistory and select Execute Stored Procedure...
- In the newly opened pop-up window, type the number of months you wish to keep the data
- If you enter 60, the measurements will be saved for 5 years
- If you enter 72, the measurements will be saved for 6 years
- If you enter 84, the measurements will be saved for 7 years
- The procedure can take longer to complete. Ensure that during this period, no one is logged in to @ptitude Analyst and no backups are performed.
-
When the procedure is finished, under Results, you should see Records successfully removed
- The procedure has now created free space in the Database files. You must shrink the Database and files to reclaim the space. Right-click on skfuser > Tasks > Shrink > Database
- You can now see the Available free space
- Click OK. The window will be closed when the shrinking action is completed.
