Summary
The Analysis and Reporting Manager (ARM) is a part of the @ptitude Analyst installation and includes example data. In Aptitude Analyst V9 MR3, a required file for one example, is missing. That file is attached here and this article describes why it is needed and the optimum folder location to place it in.
Details
When ARM loads a large .wav file, instead of embedding the data into the PDS file (the Analysis and Reporting Manager data stream file format), it "buffers" its reading of the original file, while using the associated PDS as a store for notes, cursor settings and other user added data. Therefore, to view the data both the WAV and PDS files have to be available on the system. ARM will automatically search for the associated WAV file in the expected location, but if it cannot find it, it will ask the user to locate it.
One such WAV file (SKF 1204 ETN9 LARGE OUTER DEFECT 1610 CPM.wav) is needed to view the data from the sample file “gE Demo Data.pds”, but is not included in the install package. To correct this, download it from this article and save it to the user’s computer. By saving it to the "Sample data" folder alongside "gE Demo Data.pds", ARM will not need to ask the user to locate the file when that PDS file is opened.
