Summary
This article describes how to resolve “Could not deploy package” error message when upgrading the @ptitude Observer database to version 13.3
When upgrading Observer to 13.3 on standalone systems, there might be an error saying “Could not deploy package” and “There is insufficient system memory in resource pool”.
There can also be a small error box without an error text.
These error messages are from the SQL Server instance and are caused by insufficient memory available to operate.
Solution
The solution is to increase the SQL Server's maximum memory.
To change the amount of memory available to the server:
In SQL Management Studio, right-click on the server header and select Properties.
Then go to the Memory view in the right-hand side list.
The amount that the Maximum server memory needs to be increased with will depend on the database size.
The amount of Maximum server memory should not exceed the free memory on the system, excluding the SQL server instance.
