How to use derived Points to trend system variables from IMx devices in @ptitude Observer

Summary

The IMx supports the derived Point function SYSVAR(“variable”).
This function allows extraction and trending of any system variable that returns a single number.

Solution

To configure @ptitude Observer to trend a system variable:

1.  Create an IMx derived Point.
   
   
2. Name it and assign it to a supported device.
   
   
3. Under Acquisition / Formula enter SYSVAR with the wanted variable. For example, SYSVAR("sm/temp") to get the internal temperature of the IMx.
   
   
4. Operating and Storage Conditions and Monitoring can be configured as normal.

Example of supported variables
tm/syncState	Current state of the IMx time synchronization 0 IMx has never been synchronized 1 Time initialized based on old data 2 Too long since last time synchronization 3 Time sync is ok
sm/temp	Internal temperature of the IMx
dq/unackr	Number of bytes in use on the IMx measurement buffer
sm/+5v	+5V System voltage +5V for supported IMx devices
sm/-12v	-12V System voltage -12V for supported IMx devices
sm/+12v	+12V System voltage +12V for supported IMx devices
sm/+24v	+24v System voltage +24V for supported IMx devices
wf/rssi	Wi-Fi Receiving signal strength only when Wi-Fi is enabled
mo/act	Type of mobile network used only when Mobile network is enabled 0 None 2 2G 3 3G 4 4G
mo/db1	First mobile signal indicator only when Mobile network is enabled 2G: BCCH, Receiving level of the BCCH carrier (-110 to -47) 3G: RSCP, Received Signal Code Power (-115 to -25) 4G: RSRP, Reference Signal Received Power (-140 to -44)
mo/db2	Second mobile signal indicator only when Mobile network is enabled 2G: 0 (not used) 3G: EC/n0, Carrier to noise ratio (-24 to 0) 4G: RSRQ, Reference Signal Received Quality (-19,5 to -3)
