The SKF Microlog Analyzer CMVA 60 operates out of "Flash" code, which is stored on a "Flash" memory chip internal to the CMVA 60 and launched whenever the unit is turned on.
The "Flash" code is implemented in firmware versions greater than 3.80 - Thus, firmware v3.7X and earlier are "EPROM" code.
The "Flash" memory technology enables the ability to update the firmware, which is packaged as a language.bin file, to the data collector via Serial Port, eliminating the need of opening the device. This article contains the necessary steps to carry out this new way of updating firmware.
